Custom Made Just for You

We get some of our best ideas from our customers. Sophia's apron got her name in sequins! Kim wanted a zipper in one of her pockets and our "Utility Apron" was born. This customer wanted a skirt that would work like an apron, with pockets.....and the "Pocket Skirt" was created. A farmer's market customer requested an apron for eggs and we designed our "Egg Gathering Apron" The boy apron has navy trim with a red piping and the girl apron has red trim with navy piping. Then we made matching navy linen shoebags for a striking duo. The fabric is called ticking. We've added it to our regular offerings for Spring . Made five of these custom blouses in various colors, patterned after Imogene's fa

The Feel of Fabric can be Amazing

"Can you get Union Jack fabric?" we were asked......and The answer is yes. Straight from London England. "OMG! It feels so soft but the quality of the weave is Absolutely exquisite" we exclaimed! We ordered it for dog shirts, but anything made from it would be wonderful. " So would it make a pillowcase? my husband asks. "That looks like the British flag. What are you making? Dog shirts? My pillowcase is about worn out" he mused.

Seamless Entertaining.....

Use one of our cloth napkins, as the placemat. With Spring and St. Patty's Day around the corner, the yellow and orange napkins make the bow ties pop! Better yet, they can be used into Spring and Summer! A customer suggested we make napkins all year round and offer them as a bundle pack at Christmas, for newly weds or housewarming gifts. Coming soon. In the meantime, come on by and mix & match yours anytime. We frequently will use fabrics used making our Cecilia Aprons, linen pants and Festival vests.

Two Ways to Do Pockets!

#1. Pocket skirt. This will be your go-to skirt when you need pockets to put things but don't want to carry a purse. Perfect for summer concerts. 6 or 8 deep pockets! Drawstring tie in soft waist band to cinch it up! #2. Apron with zippered pocket ~ Our Vendor apron has Three deep pockets, one with an industrial zipper. Three Belt loops to cinch it up! Believe I'll add a zipper to the pocket skirt as an option! We'll be adding them both to our Spring 2018 line-up at the Fayetteville Farmer's Market. Opening Day is March 31st. They are available now in store and we're taking pre-orders. Sold the last small checked vendor apron today! Exciting to know that our "Loomineers" will be tr

All in the Day

Day of Action Volunteers posing with Nicole Clowney in her run in District 86. Cutting table made a great elbow rest for phone banking. Over 20 volunteers made a home at Olive Loom for a day of team work! They're part of the "Blue Wave 2018" and it is great exposure for us. We made our WAVE products with folks like them! While Nicole's volunteers were doing this, I was at the indoor Farmer's Market. Sally picked up her 5th linen blouse. She loves them for dancing. "The red one fits perfect! I love it.!......did I mention she's 70+, has a weekend fellow, babysits grandkids and cleans houses! Next we're making her a dress! Taylor custom made the pattern from her 30 year old worn out ori

It's a Ticking Creation Kind of Day

Today, Linda created a beautiful custom apron. The customer chose navy ticking fabric with red trim and and navy piping. The groom's/chef coordinating apron has navy trim and red piping and is done in a traditional butcher block style. Biggest decision? deciding the stripe direction of the pockets. One reason, we love aprons is that we can get really creative picking the prints, and color combinations for the the accent trim and rick rack. This style of apron was worn by Linda's grandmother, Cecilia, and it is her pattern. This apron set is going to New Zealand, along with a Crate and Barrel gift certificate. They are so stunning, we've already sold another Chef apron in XL. The stripes dr

Brown Butter Chocolate Chip Cookies?

Two chocolate chip cookies recipes. Brown Butter or Milk Chocolate. Crunchy &/or soft. You decide. DIY Valentine's. Included with every soup cozy this Valentines. Cookies on right are brown butter chocolate chip cookies with molasses, bittersweet chocolate and sprinkled with sea salt. Crunchy. Cookies on the left have a softer middle, made with a milk chocolate chips and corn starch. Doug tested them both while hot. He voted for the brown butter ones. The brown butter were a little more work, but this was the 1st time I'd ever made them. Well worth the time. They'll be perfect nestled in a Valentine's soup cozy. Another Fayetteville Connection....

Imagine our surprize when making WAVE neck wraps for all the summer "field organizers" and volunteers. We found environmentally safe water beads to put in them........and the company was located in Fayetteville, Arkansas! Watersorb. "I'll just drop your order off at your shop since I live in that area." Paula, the Watersorb lady tells me. "Call me and I'll run outside to get the waterbeads, so you don't have to get out of the truck with your knee acting up." I offer. It was really fun then meeting another woman about my age, running a business! It is indeed a small world. Linda made the 4 chambers in the neck wrap. I filled each one of them and double pinned them. Then Linda sewed them
